Admission Timeline
Every student is going to go through the college application process differently. That is why individualized counseling is so important. However, we have provided this typical timeline to help students know what to expect at each stage of the process.
We generally advise families to begin the college search process in the winter of junior year, as we have found that starting the process before then can be unnecessary. Much changes in a short amount of time in the life of a teenager.
However, there are important things that college-bound freshmen and sophomores can do to optimize their chances of admission, such as: maintaining excellent grades in courses that are appropriately challenging, participating in extra-curricular activities and/or athletics they are passionate about, and getting involved in the community by means of a job or volunteer experience.
